A time to celebrate.
A time to reflect.
A time to look forward and build on what has aleady been achieved!
Many members of staff and the Upper 6th Form from Appleby Grammar School met together for a special farewell meal at Appleby Manor Hotel on Thursday 8th July at 7pm. Even though the weather was dull and dismal the evening was alive with humour and friendship. This final get-together was co-ordinated by Charlotte Bell of Morland. Charlotte said that it was probably the last opportunity for friends to meet up as many of the students would be going to different parts of the country in persuit of further study. Durham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Nottingham were some of the places where the students hoped to be studying Law, Dentisty, Pharmacy, Criminology and Business Studies as well as becoming involved in Education and Teaching.
As is always the case, the hard work has been done, the exams taken and everything now rests with the results, which will be published on 19th August. In the meantime there was food for thought. The menu consisted of - Crescent of Galia Melon or Smoked Chicken Salad; Pan fried Black Banded Bream or Rump of Galloway Steak followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding and Coffee and Petit Fours.
Miss Margaret Robley, on behalf of everyone, said it had been a wonderful evening and Mr Terry Hobson (Headteacher) who attended the hotel later expressed his appreciation for all the hard work which they had successfully achieved and wished the students good luck for the future.
