Successes Brighten a Dull and Wet Day at Appleby Show.

There was a good selection of Shepherd's crooks on display.

Bob Cannan (Kendal) was Reserve Champion.

This colourful jazz band brought a sense of liveliness to the craft tent.

The colour was provided by some wonderful artwork
much done by children from Appleby Primary School.

Paul Capstick gained First Prize, winning Rough Fell Champion with a Sheering Tup.

The industrial tent was alive with activity and interesting
things to see.......and taste!

A considerable number of school children entered their art work at the show.

William Farrell gained First Prize and used textiles
to produce this super picture.

Alistair, age 5 (Appleby), was proud of his art work
for which he gained a First Prize also.

Hugo Addison won this Champion Simintal Trophy
with a 1 year old heifer.

And....a successful round for this rider
in one of the equestrian events.

Despite the poor weather there were quite a number of strong
entries
for the show jumping events.

Overall winner with most points in the children's section was
Alistair Barker, seen pictured with sister Kimberly.
Here's hoping that the other shows will be blessed with better
weather.
Brough, Dufton, Skelton and Crosby Ravensworth
to name just a few.
