C L O S E D !!

Today 31st July at 1pm
saw the final closure of
THE BOLTON BRANCH
of
THE POST OFFICE

and altering the format
of this familiar shop for ever

the last transaction was performed by
local head teacher Judith Cotter

.. and the official date stamp of the post office
was dutifully handed over by John Cotter (Branch manager)
to post office auditor David Branthwaite

From now on ...
People from the secluded village of Bolton nr Appleby
will have to travel to either Appleby or Penrith
for similar services incurring a round trip of
at least 10 miles

ONE GOOD THING .....

THE SMALL VILLAGE SHOP WILL REMAIN OPEN
FOR THE PRESENT AT LEAST!

Small groceries, sweets, news papers and other items
will still be available
9am - 5pm
