MORLAND CHORISTERS CAMP 2008

Some of the aspects of the final day in the life of this successful musical venture
were captured by our photographer
on Sunday 3rd August

Leaving the village hall car park for the church

The musical procession filed past houses on high street

... and on to Morland Parish Church ...

past waiting parents and friends ....

and well in time ...

... for the 10.30 Morning Service

In the afternoon there was the special awards ceremony
which was enjoyed by everyone
then in the evening....

.. at around 6.15pm the whole company gathered in garden
of Morland House

... arriving at church at 6.28pm
for evensong

During the service, it was easy to reflect on
the wealth of talent of all age groups
taking part in this service

But....
although all good things come to an end ...

...there were smiles as well as tears ....

all of which reflected the worthwhile and happy times during the week

Many people must have given a small thought for
the originator of this very worthwhile activity
The Revd Canon Gervase Markham MBE
(who died last year aged 97)

His legacy remains and the camp continues, due to the dedicated work of of those committed
to the development and encouragement of church music in young people.
