MORLAND CHORISTERS CAMP 2009
Choristers countrywide all converge on this Cumbrian village
to experience a week of choral adventures

Despite the precarious weather during the early part of the week the 100 strong choir were in good voice

when they sang evensong in Carlisle Cathedral on the Friday evening

after regular practices in the local church and village hall the choristers were well prepared for the service ...

... attended by visitors and families of the choristers too

Everyone enjoyed the good singing and a fine spirit to the service. The lessons were read by two of the choristers.

BUT theres a lot more to this camp than singing ....

... having fun and playing games is all part of this great week away in the countryside ...

... building friendships and developing endurance and a sense of team spirit is all part of the overall plan ...

BUT.... No one ever thought that eating cream crackers could be quite so difficult!!

SATURDAY 1st AUGUST

... AND with A Drama Production in Penrith Methodist Church
there was always lots for everyone to look forward to.

The concert entertained parents and supporters with telented group items and a choral production of Alice In Wonderland ...

... as usual the musical performance was outstanding.

SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST

Promptly at 10.15am the choir left the school and processed through the village to the Church for morning worship

Following a lavish tea for parents and choristers came the time for the awards and appreciations

for all the effort, hard work and achievements of the week by choristers and leaders too

with special congratulations to winners of the NEW CROQUET CUP and to someone who had taken part at the camp for 20 years

BUT there was overwhelming applause for
THE CATERERS
whose tasty food had been eagerly received
at regular times of each day!

The final musical activity, evensong in the church commenced with a procession from the garden of Morland House

Following this there were the traditional farewells and photo calls outside church from 7.45pm

Celebrations for the achievements gained, tears of joy for the friendships created ...

and the enduring thoughts that ........

MAYBE ... we will all enjoy another great musical week together ... NEXT YEAR!!
