Magical May!
I guess this is Summer! Well, it was! While it has been wet recently, I must say there has been some good sunny weather up here in Cumbria over the past couple of months, much of it was while I was away. As you probably know, I have now returned to England's green and pleasant land from my annual visit to the wonderful Mediterranean colours of Mallorca. It’s a wonderful place, full of fun and lager in the South, while further North the sobriety and peacefulness of this mountainous district is still being retained for the present at least. In addition to looking forward to meeting up with a number of good friends over there, I just love celebrating the end of the Winter with my usual trip to Sun, Sand and Sangria!
But, about 6 weeks before I was due to leave for the hallowed land - I decided to purchase a set of bathroom scales! I have never owned a set before, mainly because I never thought I really needed them. Now I can be quite dubious, even cautious about new purchases like this, but having felt a little under the weather during February and lacking in the kind of will that normally encourages me leave the house to challenge nature once more, I decided I had better actually do something about it. In fact I was becoming quite concerned about my general lethargy and physical heaviness, even considering that if I tripped and fell I might never be able to get up again without some considerable assistance and that’s not always ready to hand up here in my neck of the woods! To be quite honest, and more importantly, looking like a beached whale on the shores of North East Majorca is certainly not my style!
So, the answer was to take action and make things happen rather than waiting for natural change to play its inevitable role in the likely course of events!
