ROYAL VISITOR AT GLENRIDDING

Ullswater looked great ....

and it was going to be a special day for a number of lakeland people

including LDNP Voluntary Ranger - TONY WARREN

who had the task of shadowing the Raven in the LDNP patrol boat with men in dark clothes!

As time went by, expectant visitors assembled at Glenridding, both on the lakeshore and in the water....

as an ITV camera crew with Border News presenter Tim Backshall appeared.

Then word came from an unusual source that .........

HRH Prince William ...

... after an exhaustive climb of Helvellyn and a sail on the Ullswater Steamer, was to land at Glenridding

Amazing though it seemed, the Prince took time to stop and talk with those on the landing stage
and families that had lined the route to the car park,
most certainly making it a day to remember.
The magic of a friendly smile and
a welcoming hand
as always
wins
hearts and minds!

Even for mere observers!!
